Mrs. Anne Sonneman-Kindergarten

My husband, Steve, and I have been married 25 years. We have a daughter, Samantha, who is currently in a master’s program at Northern Illinois University. The focus of our hearts is family. In my spare time, I am an avid reader, cross stitch aficionado, Disney enthusiast, geocaching and nature activity participant, and out-of-the-box adventurer.

I am a graduate of Northern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with endorsements in Language arts and Social Science. I have been the kindergarten teacher at St. Laurence for over 12 years. In addition to teaching, I periodically teach science, math, and artistic workshops, as well as, tutor students one-on-one and in group settings on campus.

I was raised in the Catholic faith and my father attended a Palatine Catholic elementary school. Teaching at a private Catholic school was appealing as a result. My niece is now in the 4 year old preschool at St. Laurence. Moreover, friendships with colleagues and Parish families have grown into an intimate ecumenical family. My philosophy of education encompasses moral education to nurture character, developing active participants in education while motivating lifelong learners.
